Grammy award winner Britney Spears has scored a small win in her conservatorship case

A sobbing Spears lashed out at her father in court, saying she wants him out as the co-conservator of her estate and charged with abuse.

The 39-year-olds comments come following a hearing last month, in which she told the court her conservatorship is abusive and she wanted to choose her own attorney.

Samuel D. Ingham had been the court-appointed lawyer since 2008 when the conservatorship began.

He submitted his petition resign to the court last week after the singer criticised his representation.

“I want to press charges against my father today.”

spears told the court by phone.

Originally asking for the courtroom to be cleared, Spears then changed her mind and spoke for around 20 minutes.

Spears launched a a series of jaw dropping allegations explaining “I thought they were trying to kill me.”

Eventually the court approved Spears’ request of hiring former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart to represent her.

The ruling was cheered by fans outside the courthouse.

Rosengart requested that the 39-year-olds father, Jamie, step down as her conservator, but that was swiftly denied.

“You’re allowing my dad to ruin my life.”

Spears said.

Crude oil surges 7% amid fears of Middle East conflict; Strait of Hormuz disruptions may push Brent over $100.

Crude oil prices spiked dramatically as investors react to the growing risk of a wider conflict in the Middle East. U.S. crude surged 7.2 percent, trading near $71.84 a barrel, signalling heightened concern across energy markets.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping chokepoint, has come under intense scrutiny. Rising war-risk insurance premiums and suspended tanker traffic are already slowing the movement of oil, creating ripple effects in global supply chains.

JPMorgan has warned that prolonged disruptions over three weeks could force Gulf producers to reduce output, potentially pushing Brent crude prices to between $100 and $120 a barrel. Markets are closely watching for developments that could reshape global energy pricing.
