Australia’s housing market faces perfect storm as valuations fall and funding costs rise, warns StoneX senior market analyst, David Scutt
David Scutt, senior market analyst at StoneX, says Australia’s housing market is facing a “perfect storm”, with falling property valuations, weaker development activity and growing exposure to private credit creating potential pressure across the economy.
He warns that rising funding costs could make it harder to encourage new housing development, while arguing policy makers may need economic buffers if conditions deteriorate.
