11-year-old Uvalde shooting survivor chilling account of escaping death

An 11-year-old survivor of the Uvalde massacre has delivered a horrifying account of how she managed to escape death on that fateful day

The young girl was joined by the parents of multiple victims, testifying in front of a Congressional panel as Senators work to see if there is any compromise on gun safety both parties can agree on.

11-year-old Miah Cerrillo says she was forced to smear the blood of her schoolmates over her body, all in an attempt to look dead and avoid being shot.

As the gunman entered the classroom, the young girl says he told her teacher ‘good night’ before shooting her in the head.

In the pre-recorded interview, Miah adds the man then shot the whiteboard before killing her classmates.

The young girl remains fearful gun violence like this could happen again at a U.S. school.

It follows a number of further mass shootings over the past few weeks, killing dozens and leading to bipartisan talks over possible gun reform.

There has been more than 200 mass murders in the United States in 2022 alone.

While many think the chance of change is impossible, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has ‘trust’ her Republican counterparts will act appropriately and come to the table.

America’s two major parties have long disagreed on gun rights, but these recent Senate talks are focussing on modest goals, all in an attempt to achieve at least some change.

The proposed reforms include so-called “red flag” laws, which would be used to deny firearms to people who are judged as a risk.

But Republicans are vowing to protect the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms as per the Second Amendment.

Meanwhile, with the Congressional hearing continuing, a doctor who treated many of the Uvalde victims pleaded for lawmakers to “do their job”

Crude oil surges 7% amid fears of Middle East conflict; Strait of Hormuz disruptions may push Brent over $100.

Crude oil prices spiked dramatically as investors react to the growing risk of a wider conflict in the Middle East. U.S. crude surged 7.2 percent, trading near $71.84 a barrel, signalling heightened concern across energy markets.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping chokepoint, has come under intense scrutiny. Rising war-risk insurance premiums and suspended tanker traffic are already slowing the movement of oil, creating ripple effects in global supply chains.

JPMorgan has warned that prolonged disruptions over three weeks could force Gulf producers to reduce output, potentially pushing Brent crude prices to between $100 and $120 a barrel. Markets are closely watching for developments that could reshape global energy pricing.
