Hacked? U.S intelligence analysing Chinese data into covid-19

US intelligence agencies are trying to make sense of Chinese data that could be used to determine the origins of Covid-19

The catalog of data contains a number of genetic blueprints that document virus samples from the lab in Wuhan where some think the virus may have started.

Sources say US officials may have obtained the information through an external hacking of the lab’s cloud server.

However, the agencies have a task at hand before they uncover any answers – and they need the computer power to do it.

The agencies will rely on a number of supercomputers at America’s Department of Energy’s National Labs – which is a collection of 17 elite government offices.

It follows President Biden ordering a 90-day independent review into the origins of the virus, to detrmine whether it leaked from a lab or was transmitted through animal to person contact.
