Aviation company starting to play its part in sustainability

Rubbish has never been more entertaining now United Airlines is dubbing Oscar the Grouch as its first Chief Trash Officer.

Sesame Street’s green trash lover will help drive awareness of sustainable aviation fuel.

Oscar will feature in 30 pieces of new and original videos as he and the airline celebrate his love of rubbish.

United customers can do their part, too, by tracking the estimated carbon footprint of their flight and contributing to United’s investment in the new Sustainable Flight Fund.

SAF is an alternative to conventional jet fuel that reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

SAF is being made from used cooking oil and agricultural waste.

United has invested in the future production of over three billion gallons of SAF – the most of any airline in the world.
