Scandinavian airline, SAS will resume talks with the pilot’s union following two weeks of strikes

Following two weeks of strikes, SAS is set to continue negotiations with the pilot’s union, after failing to reach new agreements over the weekend.

Pilots in Sweden, Denmark and Norway walked out earlier this month after talks about the airline’s rescue plan, fell apart.

The airline had been struggling to compete with low-cost competition along with the pandemic’s heavy impact on the aviation industry. Now a new challenge has been posed with travel being opened up again, yet not enough staff to manage the airports or aircrafts.

The company has its eyes set on new investors, saying that it must slash costs to achieve success.

It’s understood over 270 thousand passengers have been affected by the cancelled flights, resulting in up to $123 million in losses.

It comes as Sweden’s Government says it won’t provide any more cash to the airline.
