Tennis Star Rafael Nadal has secured his 299th Grand Slam Win

The 21-time Champion breezed through Jordan Thompson, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 on his favourite surface at Roland Garros.

The win means that he’s now 18-zip in first-round matches at the French Open.

If he is successful at the tournament, he will be two Grand Slams ahead of his all-time rivals, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

But the 35-year-old says there is still room for improvement.

“I need to improve in every way. I need to improve my movement. At the moment, the speed of my forehand… the average speed, I think could be and should be better,” he says.

Nadal secured the Australian Open earlier this year, while Novak Djokovic was banned from the tournament.

“I am the kind of player that’s always looking for something else, looking for better things, and that’s what I am going to try to find during my practice tomorrow and in the next match,” Nadal says.
