One dead as car ploughs through Berlin crowd

A car has driven into a crowd of people and killed one person in western Berlin

Around 30 people are injured after a man reportedly drove through a crowd in Berlin, leaving one person dead.

“A man is believed to have driven into a group of people. It is not yet known whether it was an accident or a deliberate act,” say police who are at the scene.

The incident took place near the scene of another fatal attack, which occurred in December 2016, where a man killed 12 people.

The suspected driver of the vehicle has been detained by authorities.
