Nick Kyrgios opens up about mental health

Nick Kyrgios continues to open up about his mental health and it appears to be working well for his tennis game

The Australian tennis star asked if he has any advice for those who might be struggling personally. He says “the people around me, I pushed them away and those are the people I needed the most.”

The 26-year-old went on to say “I’ve got a really good tight-knit group of people around me and I’m not afraid to open up anymore, I think that’s the biggest thing.”

“I think males around my age really struggle with coming out.”

“[They think] it’s a sign of weakness or something if you’re struggling mentally, but I don’t think that’s the case at all,” Kyrgios says.

He also praised Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka, who has been open about her struggles with mental health.

“Naomi kind of pulled the pin at that French Open when she was dealing with all that negative kind of emotion, and when she pulled the pin, I related to that,” Kyrgios says.

The world 102 joined his close friend and fellow Australian, Thanassi Kokkinakis in round four of the Miami Open.  The pair won the Australian Open double’s title in January.

Kyrgios knocked out Fabio Fognini 6-2, 6-4 and will face Italian youngster Jannik Sinner in the next round.

Earlier this month, Kyrgios bowed out of the Indian Wells tournament, which featured an exchange with Ben Stiller.

Trump claims Iran’s military largely neutralized; tensions rise with attacks threatening air travel and oil shipping.

President Trump says Iran’s military capability has been largely neutralised, including its navy and air force, as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies. Iranian attacks have threatened commercial air travel and oil shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears of wider economic fallout.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has faced two attacks, while Gulf states worked to intercept further Iranian strikes. Officials report six U.S. troops killed and more than 700 deaths inside Iran as the exchange of fire escalates.

With global markets watching closely, the region remains on edge as military and diplomatic tensions show no signs of easing.
