A new World Health Organisation study has found working long hours is literally killing us
In 2016, 745,000 people died as a result of health complications associated with working too much.
The data found working 55 hours or more per week was linked to a 35 per cent increased risk of stroke and a 17 per cent increased risk of of heart disease compared to a 35 to 40 hour working week.
72 per cent were men and middle-aged or older.
The study did not include the COVID-19 pandemic.
Officials are concerned the move to remote working could see the risks increase
