The Indian capital will deregister older diesel vehicles in a bid to reduce toxic exposure

It’s the latest in the city’s crackdown on pollution, and complies with the nation’s plan to dispose of waste that leads to environmental issues.

Vehicles that have completed, or will be completing 10 years in service by January will be deregistered….

It follows a 2018, Supreme Court ruling that prohibited the use of 15-year-old petrol and 10-year-old diesel vehicles in the nation’s capital.

The local transport department has offered some relief to owners, who wish to convert their diesel cars into an electric vehicle.
