The U.S. President says both nations have a “partnership for the ages”.

U.S. President Joe Biden has delivered a highly personal address to Ireland’s parliament.

Biden declared Ireland and the U.S. have a “partnership for the ages” as he celebrated his own Irish heritage.

Speaking in the chamber, Biden said “I’m at home”, while also referencing his age and experience.

“I come to the job with more experience than any president in American history. It doesn’t make me better or worse, but it gives me few excuses.”

The speech followed a four day visit to the region, the President says the two nations are allies in a battle for shared values.

Biden also had a message for Downing Street.

He believes the UK “should be working closer” with the Irish government to support Northern Ireland, where power-sharing collapsed last year. #trending #featured

President Trump says Iran’s military capability has been largely neutralised, including its navy and air force, as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies.
