Japanese exports are gaining strength after taking a hit by the pandemic.

Japan exports reported a double-digit gain for the first time in more than three years.

The value of overseas shipments rose 16.1% in the past year as a demand for computer chips, cars, and plastics grows.

This comes as a time where vaccine delays and an emerging fourth wave of COVID-19 continue to weigh on domestic activity.
