Iran likely to extend UN nuclear agreement

Iran is likely to extend a UN nuclear inspections agreement by a month, which will give diplomats time to revive a landmark deal.

An extension to the interim agreement would continue Iran’s access to world oil markets in exchange for curbs on its atomic work.

It would also avert any potential crises involving world powers and set the stage for a return to the US’ nuclear accord from 20-15. President Trump abandoned the deal three years ago.

But Iranian state TV reports that an extension will be on the condition that Washington returns to the accord and removes Trump-era sanctions within a month.
