International Air Travel continued to recover in November despite Omicron

The International Air Travel sector continued to recover in November prior to the emergence of the Omicron variant

The International Air Transport Association says demand has sustained an upward trend off the back of further markets reopening.

Domestic travel was down slightly, but this comes off the back of two consecutive months of growth.

But it will likely be a different story for December, with the ITIA blaming world leaders’ over-reaction to the emergence of the Omicron variant for a lack of ticket sales.

The association says there is little to no correlation between the introduction of travel restrictions and preventing transmission of the virus and this type of pandemic response should be avoided at all costs.
