Putin addressed the nation to reset the narrative from the rebellion. It remains to be seen how successful he will be

Russian President Vladimir Putin has a reputation – he’s a man you do not want to cross.

So the recent Wagner Group rebellion has been a massive embarrassment for the leader who is meant to have an iron grip.

He’s now desperately trying to re-create the narrative. But will it work?

But in a televised address he told Russia and the world he let the rebellion carry on to avoid bloodshed.

And rather than an embarrassment, Putin tried framing the event as one that showed the strength and unity of the Russian Federation.

He thanked the military for their loyalty and laid out the consequences if they had failed.

He also refused to mention Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group by name. #putin #russia #wagner #featured
