G7 member nations have labeled the new Omicron variant the biggest current threat to world health, as they push for global cooperation

This comes as the UK recorded its highest number of daily coronavirus infections for the second day in a row.

England’s chief medical officer is warning this latest strain could rise “incredibly fast”…

But, there is hope, with the officer also noting that the peak in infections may dip quickly off the back of a successful booster rollout.

Over 745,000 third or booster doses were administered across Britain over the past 24 hours.

PM Boris Johnson is also urging people to use “caution” as the busy holiday period approaches.
