Formula 1 will continue racing in Australia for more than a decade

Some good news for Aussie formula one fans

Melbourne will remain the host of Formula one until 2035.

The existing deal is due to end in 2025 but the 10-year extension has now been cemented.

It follows a stellar performance and turnout at this season’s event, with more than 400,000 fans flocking to the grid.

The CEO of Formula One says he’s “delighted to confirm that Melbourne and the Albert Park circuit will continue to be on the Formula 1 calendar until 2035,”

“The race has always been a favourite for the fans, drivers and the teams and Melbourne is an incredible and vibrant international city that is a perfect match for our sport.”

“This year we saw huge crowds and passionate fans at the Grand Prix, and we are very excited by the future in Australia as our sport continues to grow.”

This major announcement set Australia and Melbourne firmly on the global sporting stage and injects life back into its economy.
