What goes up must come down, and the same is true of even inflation

 
As inflation begins to cool economists are breathing a sigh of relief as the U.S. Federal Reserve looks to round out its interest rate hikes.

But how far away is that point and what will it look like when we get there?

After reaching an almost four decade high of 9.1 per cent inflation one year ago, June saw that figure falling to just 3 per cent in the U.S.

Welcome news to millions of struggling Americans no doubt, but so too for the Federal Reserve.

The central bank recently tipped it may soon end its interest rate hikes put in place precisely to bring down this inflation.

The U.S. is such a large player in the global economy, what the Fed decides to do is often mirrored by central banks in other countries.

So what will it mean for the Fed to pause interest rates amid looming fears of a global recession?
