Elon musk says the last few months have been tough following purchase of Twitter

Elon Musk has made a surprise appearance on the BBC.

The Twitter and Tesla boss unexpectedly agreed to have a last-minute conversation with Britain’s public broadcaster.

This follows the BBC objecting a new tag describing it as “government funded media” on its main Twitter account.

Musk says his aim is to make the social media platform transparent and honest, but agrees the tag can be updated.

He went onto say the BBC is one of the “least biased” outlets in his opinion.

The BBC has always maintained its impartiality and operates through a Royal Charter agreed with the government, which says it must be independent.

When it comes to his purchase of Twitter, Musk admits the last few months have been “tough”.

And what about the hot topic of the year – AI?

The correspondent questioned Musk on whether we are seeing a huge moment for the sector.

The Twitter boss says AI has been going a long time but needs an “easy interface” like chatbot ChatGPT has provided.

He’s been warning about safety for decades and believes there should be a regulatory body to make sure it doesn’t present a danger to the public in the future. #trending #featured
