President Biden has enjoyed a joy ride in the new Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck

US President Joe Biden has weighed in with his support for Electric carss and new infrastructure to support making them.

Visiting the Ford Electric vehicle plant in Michigan, the President has continued to push for a cleaner future and says the future of the auto industry is electric.

“The future of the auto industry is electric. There’s no turning back”

Adding a little bit of humor to his visit, the President took a joy ride in Ford’s new electric F-150 Lightning pickup truck.

Ford is previewing the new F-150 Lightning, an electric version of its pickup that will be built by United Auto Workers members.

After his time behind the wheel of the F-150 Lightning, the president was asked how it was to drive the battery-electric pickup. “It feels great,” Biden said.

“I’ll tell you what, these electric vehicles, now I don’t know if anyone has a stop watch but these vehicles can go from 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds,”
