The leader, who had a $5 million bounty on his head was captured at his jungle hideout

Colombian authorities have announced that the country’s most-wanted drug lord will be extradited to the U.S. after his capture on Saturday.

The individual was arrested following a lengthy joint operation between Colombia’s police, army and air force.

He was in charge of the nation’s biggest criminal gang and has also been high on America’s most-wanted list for many years.

The extradition agreement follows U-S authorities placing a $5 million bounty on his head… with accusations that he imported at least 73 metric tonnes of cocaine into the country between 2003 and 20-14.

Reports suggest that the individual is being held at a military base in Colombia’s capital of Botaga before he will be sent to the United States.

Meanwhile, in a televised address, the Colombian President hailed the hard work of authorities to bring the cartel leader down, saying it is “the biggest blow against drug trafficking in the country this century… only comparable to the fall of Pablo Escobar in the 1990s”.

Trump claims Iran’s military largely neutralized; tensions rise with attacks threatening air travel and oil shipping.

President Trump says Iran’s military capability has been largely neutralised, including its navy and air force, as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies. Iranian attacks have threatened commercial air travel and oil shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, raising fears of wider economic fallout.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has faced two attacks, while Gulf states worked to intercept further Iranian strikes. Officials report six U.S. troops killed and more than 700 deaths inside Iran as the exchange of fire escalates.

With global markets watching closely, the region remains on edge as military and diplomatic tensions show no signs of easing.
