China and Russia growing closer by the day as Vladimir Putin meets with Li Shangfu

It seems Russia and China are getting closer by the day.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with China’s Defence Minister Li Shangfu in Moscow.

The pair hailed their respective countries’ close military cooperation.

Li will travel through Russia for four days.

The overseas trip is his first since stepping into the role last month.

Western nations are ramping up the pressure on China, asking Beijing to push Putin to end his war in Ukraine.

Li’s visit comes just weeks after Xi Jinping travelled to Russia, with Xi and Putin further cementing their countries’ ties and pledging to “deepen military mutual trust”.
