An explosion in a St Petersburg cafe has killed a prominent Russian military blogger.

A young woman, who is a resident of St Petersburg, has been detained on suspicion of murdering the war correspondent.

According to Russian media, Daria Trepova enters the cafe with a box.

The Interior Ministry says Vladlen Tatarsky was presented with a statue inside a box which had a bomb hidden inside.

At least 25 people were injured in the bomb blast.

Footage posted by Russian State Media shows the scene in Russia.

Tatarsky was a vocal supporter of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

He was a guest speaker at an event hosted by the cafe when the bomb went off.
