To infinity, not beyond: ‘Lightyear’ film banned in 11 countries

Well it seems like it’s “to infinity but not beyond”

The upcoming ‘Lightyear’ film will be banned in 11 countries.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt have all taken offence to a same-sex kiss between two female characters.

The UAE’s “Media Regulatory Office” says the film violates the country’s media content standards.

Homosexuality is illegal in Saudi Arabia, and surrounding countries often take issue with movie content or characters where same-sex couples are featured.

The kiss was initially cut out of the film until Pixar employees accused Disney of censorship.

The decision has left some film makers venting their frustration at the ban.
