Assistant director of Alec Baldwin movie Rust questioned

Assistant director of Alec Baldwin’s movie Rust was fired from his previous movie after a crew member was injured in a gun incident

Dave Halls is the crew member that handed Baldwin the prop gun before it fatally shot dead the director of photography, Halyna Hutchins.

Halls was serving as an assistant director on the film “Freedoms path” in 2019 when a gun unexpectedly discharged on set, causing a sound crew member to recoil from the blast.

An incident report stated that “Halls was removed from the set immediately after” and “production did not resume filming until Dave was off site”.

The company says “Dave was very remorseful for the vents and understood the reasons he was being terminated”.

The Assistant Director did not want to comment on recent incident on the Rust film set.
