Interactive leads innovation by testing AI tools internally, upskilling staff, and fostering creativity, featuring insights from Head of Data & AI, Lizzy Jones

In Short:
– Interactive tests AI tools internally before offering them to clients, focusing on innovation through employee upskilling and collaborative sessions.
– Establishing a safe innovation culture led to faster procurement processes and reduced threat response times in security operations.

Interactive is taking a hands on approach to artificial intelligence, testing and embedding AI tools across its own operations before offering those capabilities to customers.

Lizzy Jones, Head of Data and AI at Interactive, says meaningful AI adoption goes beyond simply buying software licences.

The company is focusing on upskilling employees, redesigning workflows and creating regular showcase sessions where teams can share what they are learning.

The approach also gives employees room to experiment, fail and refine new tools in a controlled environment before they are introduced to customers.

That internal testing is already producing measurable results.

Interactive says its procurement team is operating 20% faster after redesigning processes around desired outcomes, while AI implementation in its Security Operations Centre has reduced average threat response times from 40 minutes to seven.

Jones says AI is also creating opportunities to rethink how businesses interact with technology.

Rather than relying on rigid and expensive software interfaces, organisations can increasingly develop flexible solutions tailored to specific workflows.

The shift towards so called UI less systems is also forcing businesses to examine outdated processes that may have remained unchanged simply because existing software dictated how work was done.

By testing AI on itself first, Interactive is building practical experience before taking those lessons to customers, with Jones playing a key role in driving the company’s broader AI adoption strategy.
