Ukraine is calling for a meeting with both Russia and members of the European security group

The nation’s foreign minister wants to speak with Moscow within the next 48 hours to gauge “transparency” as Russian troops remain amassed on the border.

Russia is continuing to deny it is planning an invasion, despite US intelligence suggesting the opposite.

There are now fears a full-scale war will eventuate before the end of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The meeting would fall under the requirements of the Vienna Document, which is an agreement signed by a number of countries, including Russia.

The UK Defence Secretary says it’s “highly likely” Russia will invade Ukraine

This is despite ongoing diplomatic efforts between multiple European Countries, NATO the EU and Britain making extensive diplomatic efforts.

On Monday, Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK said Kyiv may backflip in joining NATO if that means it will prevent a war with Russia.
