Instagram went down in several parts of the world due to unclear issues

The social media platform experienced technical errors resulting in users unable to refresh or upload any content.

According to Down-detector, the platform that keeps track of internet outages, the Instagram services went down at around 3pm AEST.

India seemed to be the worst hit by the outage

Swaths of consumers reported to the detection website that they were not able to access Instagram in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Facebook, which owns Instagram, did not publicly acknowledge the issue, but the parent company started to fix the issue nearly two hours after the issue first emerged.

Users took to Twitter to specify that they were unable to send direct messages to other users while other struggled to upload on the platform’s Stories feature.
