Why Iran will extend a UN nuclear inspections agreement

Iran is likely to extend a UN nuclear inspections agreement by a month.

An extension to the agreement would continue Iran’s access to global oil markets in exchange for curbs on its atomic work.

It would also avert any potential crises and set the stage for a return to the US’ nuclear accord from 2015, President Trump abandoned the deal three years ago.

But Iranian state TV reports that an extension will be on one condition….that Washington returns to the accord and removes Trump-era sanctions within a month.
