The White House is enforcing a federal TikTok ban, giving federal employees 30 days to delete the app
The White House has officially set a deadline as to when TikTok will be banned on on federal mobiles and systems.
U.S. government agencies have been given 30 days to ensure they do not have the Chinese-owned app installed.
It’s all in a bid to keep national data safe and prohibit internet traffic from reaching the company.
The ban itself was ordered by Congress late last year and follows similar actions from Canada, the EU, Taiwan and Australia.
The device ban will only impact a tiny portion of TikTok’s U.S. user base but further fuels calls for an outright ban on the video-sharing app.
It of course comes as fears grow over China’s surveillance programs and suspected attempts to spy on the West.
But ByteDance-owned TikTok has says the concerns are unfounded and is denying using the app to monitor Americans. #trending #featured
