When will Tesla resume production in Shanghai?

Published

on

There was hopes that Tesla’s production at its Shanghai factory will kick start on Monday, but not anymore.

The company has notified workers and suppliers that production will continue to be paused

This is according to the U.S automaker’s notice to employees, which did not elaborate on the reasons or say when the company expected activity to resume.

This follows the lockdown Shanghai imposed to combat a surge in COVID-19 cases.

The current stoppage marks one of the longest suspensions since the factory started production in late 2019.

This comes as Tesla seeks investor approval to increase its number of shares to enable a stock split in the form of a dividend.

Following a pandemic-induced rally in the technology shares, Google, Amazon and Apple have also split their shares to make them more affordable
