Sky sports reporter Martin Brundle is no stranger to awkward encounters at the Grand Prix and the Miami event proved to be no different

During Brundle’s pre-race grid walk the reporter interviewed Paola Banchero, mistakenly thinking he was the NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes.

The Miami Grand Prix is frequented by many A-list celebrities with Michelle Obama in attendance earlier in the event.

Sunday’s race attracts the biggest crowd though and Brundle took the opportunity to speak with as many celebrities and sports stars as possible.

memes have flooded twitter

The former F1 driver interviewed Venus Williams, DJ Khaled and NBA star Dwyane Wade.

The commentator made the blunder after he was told that Mahomes was nearby at the event.
