The Florida governor made comments about the war

Senate Republicans are backing away from Presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis after the Florida governor dismissed the war in Ukraine as a “territorial dispute”.

Now, the war-torn nation has invited DeSantis to visit and see the conflict for himself.

DeSantis is widely expected to run for president in 2024 and made his remarks in response to questions sent to possible Republican contenders.

The former congressman says continued U.S. support of Ukraine is not among the country’s “vital national interests”.

This comment signals he will probably scale back aid if he becomes the leader of the free world.

It also aligns DeSantis with former President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, speaking in Washington, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham says this invasion is much more than a “territorial dispute”, it’s a war against Putin and the West has to win.

“I think this is a misunderstanding of the situation,” Graham said. “It is not a conflict with Russia.”
