During the U.S. Senate hearing that focused on the impact that social media has on children, Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg stood up and apologized to families in the hearing room who lost loved ones.

Despite both parties’ grilling the executive and agreeing that the tech is affecting society—Congress has yet to pass meaningful legislation to regulate social media companies.
