Senate Republicans have blocked the bill to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law
Democratic leader Chuck Schumer planned a vote on a sweeping bill to override state laws and set a national abortion policy, the Women’s Health Protection Act, but lost the vote in the Senate.
So essentially, the decision now sits on the U.S. Supreme Court to amend the Constitutional right to abortion across the nation.
The US Senate on Wednesday failed to pass a bill that would codify into federal law the right to access abortion.
