U.S. concerned over Nancy Pelosi visit to Taiwan

The Biden Administration is reportedly worried that China may declare a no-fly zone over Taiwan, to stop a trip by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

China’s Foreign Ministry is vowing to take strong measures if the trip to the island-nation goes ahead.

Pelosi says it’s important to show support for Taiwan but is not discussing any travel plans at this stage.

The Democratic Leader’s visit had been postponed from April. after contracting COVID.

China has been stepping up military activity around Taiwan in recent times.

The democratically-ruled island says its 23 million people can decide their future.
