Trump returns to Washington for inauguration celebrations featuring an Elvis impersonator, fireworks amid frigid weather forecasts.

President-elect Donald Trump arrived in the Washington area on January 18 for celebrations before his inauguration. He flew on an Air Force plane provided by outgoing President Joe Biden, accompanied by his family.

Upon arrival, Trump headed to his golf club in Sterling, Virginia, where an Elvis impersonator performed for him and his guests before a fireworks display.

Trump plans to hold a rally with supporters on January 19 and a post-inauguration event on January 20.

Due to forecasted cold weather, the inauguration ceremony will be moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda, with the parade relocated to the Capital One Arena. This is the first indoor inauguration since Ronald Reagan’s in 1985.

Many of the 220,000 ticketed guests will not be able to view the swearing-in, as only a small number can fit inside the Capitol Rotunda and the arena. Attendees expressed disappointment at the restricted access but remained enthusiastic about Trump’s return.

After the inauguration, Trump is expected to sign executive orders on various priorities. His first term lasted from 2017 to 2021, and he did not attend Biden’s inauguration in 2021. Biden is expected to attend Trump’s ceremony on January 20.
