A number of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks and appointees received bomb threats and swatting attacks, according to Trump’s transition team.

The FBI is investigating these incidents.

Transition spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated that several nominees faced violent threats to their lives and those of their families.

The threats included bomb threats and swatting attacks, where attackers falsely report emergencies to provoke law enforcement responses.

This tactic has gained popularity in recent years.

Leavitt noted that law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those targeted.

She expressed gratitude from President Trump and the transition team for the swift action taken by authorities.

Among those targeted were Rep. Elise Stefanik, designated as the next UN ambassador, Matt Gaetz, initially picked for attorney general, and Lee Zeldin, chosen to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.
