Israel receives three hostages from Hamas via Red Cross; Biden announces deal for Trump’s administration to implement
Israel’s military has announced that three hostages held by Hamas since October 7, 2023, are now with IDF soldiers.
Hamas transferred these hostages to the Red Cross in Gaza.
The handover was confirmed by Israel’s Foreign Ministry.
Following the transfer, the Red Cross is expected to escort the hostages to an IDF position.
The Hamas militants involved in the transfer were identifiable by their face coverings and green bandanas.
On the last full day of his presidency, Joe Biden addressed the implementation of a deal he has been pursuing for several months.
Biden stated that the deal validates his administration’s support for Israel.
He said that it is now the responsibility of Donald Trump’s incoming administration to ensure the deal is implemented as intended.
