A former security officer at Uber has been found guilty of covering a 2016 cyber attack

In the alleged incident, a hacker downloaded personal details from 57 million people.

Now this included names, email addresses, and phone numbers.

The numbers can be broken down into 50 million drivers ad 7 million users.

it’s believed driver’s license numbers for another 600,000 drivers were also compromised.

U.S. prosecutors believe Joe Sullivan keep the hack under wraps to protect Uber’s reputation.

Bloomberg reports Sullivan faces up to eight years in prison but is “likely” to have a far shorter sentence.
