Chinese state media says loopholes about time limits on gaming should be closed

There are concerns that minors will bypass the new rules in China, aimed at curbing gaming play time to three hours per week should be removed to “prevent addiction.”

It follows China trying to limit the amount of time that under-18s spend on video games to three hours a week.

The new rules are is designed to combat gaming addiction, but causing many young Chinese gamers to express outrage at the rules.

The nation’s Community Daily Newspaper says there are gamer accounts bypassing the supervision by quote “renting and buying accounts and play online games without restrictions”.

The state newspaper has called on families and schools to create an environment “for the healthy growth of minors”.
