The 5G technology set to boost US defense systems

5G technology is about to play a vital role in protecting American homeland and assisting the US Department of Defense

American telco giant AT&T is developing next generation defense systems, powered by 5G technology.

The telco company entered into a collaboration agreement with Northrop Grumman Corporation to research and develop a “digital battle network”

The new technology is set to support the US Department of Defense.

In a statment, AT&T says both companies plan to deliver a cost-effective, scalable, open architecture solution that will “help the DoD connect distributed sensors, shooters and data from all domains, terrains and forces – similar to how smart devices connect and share data in our everyday lives.”

“This digital battle network is expected to bring together the high speeds, low latency and cybersecurity protections of private 5G networks with the flexibility and scalability of AT&T’s commercial 5G capabilities and offer a critical capability to support the DoD’s vision for Joint All Domain Command and Control”

Ben Davies, vice president and general manager, Networked Information Solutions division, Northrop Grumman says that “Our collaboration with AT&T brings together some of the best capabilities in defense and commercial communications to meet the evolving requirements of JADC2,”

The latest developments come as national security threats from countries like China and Russia continue to increase.

Does American media have TikTok bias?

Published

While the fate of TikTok remains uncertain in the U.S.—there is no shortage of possibilities.

Several investors are hoping to benefit from a new federal law that requires TikTok’s China-based parent company to sell the popular platform or face a ban.

This comes after ByteDance and TikTok filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government to block the law from going into effect.

Meanwhile, eight TikTok creators filed their own challenge, arguing the law violates their First Amendment rights to free speech.

But as the saga continues many media outlets are defending the platform.

David Zhang from China Insider joins Veronica Dudo to discuss. #IN AMERICA TODAY #trending #TikTok #TikTokban #socialmedia #China
