Spain parliament passes law on transgender protections

Spain’s parliament has passed a law making it easier for trans people to change their gender

Impacted individuals will be able to alter their identification documents, like a passport or license, without the need for medical appraisals.

The law was approved with 190 votes in favour, 60 against and 91 absentees.

Trans activists celebrated in the streets when the decision was announced.
