Shopping centre in Ukraine hit by deadly Russian missile

A shopping centre in east Ukraine with more than one thousand people inside has been hit by a Russian missile strike

At least 13 people have died and more than 50 others injured in the attack located in Kremenchuk, according to the governor, with the number of victims expected to rise as rescuers continue their work.

Writing on his Telegram channel, the governor said “it’s too early to talk about the final number of people killed”.

At this stage Emergency Services are still looking for victims, with dozens of people taken to hospital after the missile strike took place around 4pm local time.

Following the attack, President Zelensky said there were more than 1,000 people inside the mall, but many managed to get out on time before the missiles hit, thanks to the air raid sirens.

This missile strike on a shopping centre is understood to be the “main focus” of the meeting.
