Rupert Murdoch slams Google and Facebook over censorship

The chairman of News Corp has taken a swing at the world’s major tech giants accusing them of censorship and collusion

News Corp boss Rupert Murdoch has accused Google and Facebook of censorship, collusion and a lack of transparency

The media tycoon voiced concern over the corporate behaviours of the companies and called for “significant reform”.

He says “there is no doubt that Facebook employees try to silence conservative voices and a quick Google News search on most contemporary topics often reveals a similar pattern of selectivity — or to be blunt, censorship”.

Murdoch complained about digital ad market manipulation saying “publishers have been materially damaged, but companies have also been overcharged for their advertising and consumers have thus paid too much for products.”

In 2017 the two companies allegedly came to an agreement to give Facebook “information, speed and other advantages” in ad auctions in exchange for online ad space for Google on the social network.

Google and Facebook have denied any wrongdoing.

American home prices are rising at faster pace now than in the last 20-years.

A recent analysis reveals a jaw dropping surge in the cost of American homes.

Since the start of 2020, U.S. home prices have surged 47% easily outstripping the gains seen in recent decades.

On top of that, home price growth so far this decade is on the verge of surpassing all the growth seen in the 2000s.

Many experts believe this decade’s housing market frenzy was ignited by a perfect storm — the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering an unprecedented rush among buyers.

Tom Hutchens, the Executive Vice President of Production at Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions joins Veronica Dudo to discuss.
