Australian airline Qantas has backflipped on its controversial decision to remove vegetarian meals on domestic flights

It follows days of public outcry over the decision to ban vegetarian meals on flights shorter than three and a half hours.

Company executives say they’ve heard the message “loud and clear” about having vegetarian food on all of their flights.

It’s set to roll out a new menu in October, with a new range of vegetarian-friendly options available to passengers.

The airline made plant-based foods an option on most of its international flights last year.

It’s also phasing out single-use plastics on its planes and in its lounges.
