The lead prosecutor in the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell has labelled the disgraced British socialite and convicted paeodophile Jeffrey Epstein as “partners in crime” during the opening address

The prosecutor says Ghislaine was “in on it from the start” and the “lady of the house”.

Ghislaine has appeared in court in New York on the first day of her sex trafficking trial charges which she staunchly denies.

Her defence alleges that she was being used as a scapegoat for the crimes committed by Epstein, who died by apparent suicide in prison in 2019.

Maxwell will face a six-week trial, where intimate details of her alleged relationship and involvement with young girls will be aired.
