Profits slump at Intel as computer chip demand increases

Intel’s profit forecast has fallen short of analyst expectations despite a massive global demand for computer chips.

Rising manufacturing costs are behind the reduced profits and come on the pack of supply chain problems from the pandemic.

The Myanmar crisis has also impacted tin supply.

Intel shares were down 3.1% after-hours trading after the results.
