Succession planning is reportedly in full swing at Australia’s national carrier

Qantas says things are in good shape for when CEO Alan Joyce departs the company.

Joyce has been the boss of the airline for 14 years, and is expected to stay until the end of next year at least.

The company’s chair says they look at succession plans twice a year.

But there is widespread speculation as to who could take on the reigns when Joyce leaves the company.

Many high-flying executives have left the company, including the CEO of Jetstar.

It’s believed there are strong internal candidate but the flying kangaroo will also look externally before a decision is made.
